Black Rock Desert, Nevada

The searching for the location of one of the mountain visions has come to a turn.

First, when I was told that the desert with the lick/alkaline soil, which is in a bunch of music videos, is called the Mojave Desert, and it resides in California. However, no photograph taken in that desert did even resemble the desert in the music video or our visions.
The other problem was that there was no real mountain like in the visions: the visions had a smaller mountain _inside_ the desert, while in the videos we only saw mountains _around_ the desert.

Then yesterday, I came across a programme on Discovery Channel called Extreme Machines. There, they recorded the record-breaking effort of a British car called Thrust SSC (SuperSonic Car) which was first able to reach supersonic speed on the ground (though an American team claimed they did it first).
Now, the interesting thing in this was that the testing was held in the desert we thought was Mojave Desert. But it's not.

It is called the Black Rock desert, and it is in Nevada. The video taken in the programme, and the fact that the supersonic car travelled with a speed of 1227km/h for at least ten or twenty seconds after it sped up, clearly shows that the desert is in fact at least a hundred miles wide.
The most important thing is that in the footage there was clearly more than one small mountain in the middle of the desert - just like in the visions some of us had.
And another thing. There was footage of small sandy whirlwinds that occasionally sweep through the area. That coincides with the "sandy fog" I've seen in my vision.

Other specifications of the project, in case someone remembers something:
Main leader - Richard Noble
Pilot - Andy Green
Aerodynamicist who took part in the testing - Ron Ayers
The first speedbreaking record took place on 13 October, 1997. Then there were more runs first on 15 October and later on, too (which coincides with my birthday - no, I am not thinking of any importance of that :).

Since the desert is quite big, I don't know if there is any valley around (others' visions had a burning valley behind the mountain).

Searching around the Net, I have found many resources about Black Rock. It seems that the desert is a regular testing place for missiles and other apparatus. It's about 200 kilometres North of Nevada's capital. There is a small town nearby called Gerlach, and there is also a ghost-town nearby called Sulphur.
