2003 and Nibiru

There has been word going around about 2003. Many people have been talking about 2003, saying something "big" is going to happen. There has also been word about Nibiru, the Sumerian 12th planet, which was theorized by Zecharia Sitchin.

What I've gathered:
1, I've read 10-11 prophecies point to the same large catastrophe, flooding, eartquakes, entire cities and regions getting under water. They were put somewhere after the millenium.
2, there have been people here talking about 2003. One said that the year 2003 holds something very accelerating in events. Another person said that her grandmother (?) who is a future-teller has seen an end-of-the-world event in 2003. A third person said there are many people going to die in 2003.
3, Zecharia Sitchin predicted that Nibiru, if it exists, has a 3600 year orbit around tha Sun, and is going to return somewhere after the millenium. He says, though, that its path goes between Mars and Jupiter. (I do not know where I have read that its course goes between the Earth and the Sun) 4, We know that the last pole shift was 12500 years ago, around 10500BC. There was a Pole Shift (its cause is still unknown to me - scientists say it was a large meteorite that crashed into Earth, but they only say that because of the amount of change which happened. (sidenote: But then, where's the crater?)), the icecaps melted, and water levels have risen 90-130 meters. Graham Hancock, author of _Fingerprint of the Gods_, has devoted many years of research to find out about the supposed antediluvian civilizations that may have been lost in the Great Flood. And he has scientifical facts to prove that there were such civilizations, who - with all these sites - may have wanted to share their knowledge so it would not become lost, and he has a theory about these civilizations wanting to warn us, the civilizations to come, of such a great catastrophe which may occur. The other aspect of his studies is looking for a possible cause of a catastrophe.
5, Scientists say that a Pole Shift is expected to happen until 2030.
6, The Peruvian and other South American myths of the Great Flood state that before the Great Catastrophy came, the Sun was blocked and everything became dark. Then came the Great Flood, which wiped out the civilizations that lived (same as Noah's Flood).
From these, I've drawn a line between the Pole Shift and 2003. And I've been seriously thinking about the myth. "The Sun being blocked." What could that mean? It could mean either an eclipse or some other constellation which would cause darkness, or it could mean something literally blocking the Sun - like if Nibiru would pass there (which is, as Sitchin says, half the size of Jupiter). But these are just speculations.

KB: Regarding Nibiru and it's orbit: It is not that the planet orbits between the Earth and the sun, but that in it's orbital path it may pass between the Earth and the sun. Sitchin gleaned from Sumerian text that the orbital time of Nibiru is most likely every 3600 years and it is based on these two facts: 1) every 3600-ish years in post and pre-diluvial events the 'Lord' is said to have been present and viewable to the world and is always associated with some major event - natural and otherwise. 2) The main Gods and Goddesses of Sumerian record were associated with this system's planets - including the sun and moon and the title given to the 12th planet (or Nibiru) was 'Lord'. I say 3600-ish years because the space of events weren't exactly 3600 years from start to finish, in other words, you couldn't set a calendar to it, but relatively 3600 years to eachother. If you look at two things 1) that Nibiru's orbit is an extreme ellipses 2) it's furthest point is far beyond the orbit of Neptune and Uranus and it's nearest point is roughly in the space between Mars and the Earth, there are some interesting things to consider.

Orbits work by gravity, and the position of a planet in an orbit around a star is the result of the gravitational pull of the sun as well as it's relative gravitational resistence to the sun which is the result of it's own electromagnetic field and the affect of the other planets. Numerically, a 3600 year orbit would mean that a planet spends 1800 traveling away from it's sun and 1800 years traveling toward it. However, that is not including certain things such as the affect of other planets in a system as well as some laws of motion such as velocity, acceleration and momentum. A planet traveling towards s un will gather speed. This means that it will gain acceleration and thus velocity and again momentum. As it gains these things it's relative arbital speed will also increase, this meaning that it will travel ever faster toward the sun and the affect of the other planets will be reduced. At it's nearest point to the sun, the traveling planet will hit a state of inertia where it's speed and position become balanced by the gravity of the sun (where push and pull are equal) and it will be as if the planet is motionless. The sun is a constant, and as such it's effect will will degenerate the force of planet, slowly reducing it's momentum until the planet is no longer balanced to the sun. Eventually the planet will come out of inertia staus and begin to be pulled by the sun. It is a slow effect and whil the it is happening the planet begins to regenerate momentum in reverse direction. With it's gravitational force reduced, the planet become more subjected the gravitaional affect of the other planets. This works to draw away the planet from the sun.

During the period when the planet is at stasis in it'e nearest position to the sun it will be essentially visible from the Earth. The period of this time isn't necessarily fixed. For example, the Earth travels around the sun every 360 days, give or take a few. The current 'official' time is 364 and a half days. This means that the Earth spends only one 'day' in any given position around the sun. However, a planet with the orbit that Nibiru is said to have could easily spend several days, months, even years in one given position during it's period of inertia. This could mean that for days or even decades the planet could be visinble in our sky, then suddenly disappear, then suddenly reappear and then suddenly disappear and not be seen again for another 1800 to 3600 years. We could step outside tonight and realize that it is unchracterically bright, look up and see - almost out of nowehere - a 'star' larger than polaris and brighter than the fullest moon.

Regarding the blotting of the sun during the flood: If the polar ice caps were sudeenly shilft, it wouldn't be a ripple that would travel across the globe and causing a lot of water to splash across a continent. It would be more like the most violent hurricane known. Imagine if something the size of North America suddenly slipped into the ocean. The 'splash' would reach a few thousand feet into the atmosphere and out away from the epicenter - sending billions upon billions of gallons of ocean in to the sky. It would create clouds so thick that no to extremely little light would penetrate - it would blot out the sun.

Firstchild: I have pondered. If Nibiru is the cause and it passes every 3600 years, then why did a great change happen only 12500 years ago? (Some sites link 1600BC to the Exodus from the Bible. Now why on Earth would that connect to Nibiru passing?)

KB: One of the things I was alluding to about orbits is that while Nibiru may pass realtively close to the sun, roughly sharing our 'orbital space', it may not necessarily be always visible or even close to the Earth itself. For example while it is claimed to have an orbit essentially opposite and perpendicular to the other planets, at the point of inertia (it's nearest spot to the sun) it can have any manner of combination of non-orbit and an orbit in the same direction as Earth. This could very well mean that while Nibiru is close to the sun it may appear in our sky day and night for several days, months and even years. It could also mean that Nibiru could be residing at a position behind, or even just slightly behind, the sun in realation to our own position. If it is behind the sun, we would never see it. If it were just slightly behind the sun, we may be only able to see it during the extreme ends of our eliptical orbit - every 4-6 months. What all this boils down to is that there could be times when Nibiru is close enough to actually cause some serious changes to the Earth and times when it is too far away to affect us with any real significance.

Yorae Dragon: Does the name Nibiru mean anything different? Last night I meditated on
the name and only found a deep hatred for it. How someone can hate a planet/sun is beyond me so maybe
I had stumbled across something else.

Firstchild: Sitchin states that there are extra-terrestrials living on Nibiru, in the form of human-like reptiloid creatures. And according to him (or Sumer mythology), the Nibiruans have created humans, by combining their own DNA with the DNA of Homo Erectus, to create slaves to mine them gold from the Earth (since Nibiru needs gold for some basic workings, if I remember correctly).
This sounds vague to me so far, but I won't say anything until I've read Sumer mythology and Sitchin's book.

KB: hmmm.... Reptilians??
Would you mind telling me where Sitchin claims that the visiting Niburians were reptilians, or reptile-like? In the four books I've read so far I don't seem to recall any such description. Good chance I've missed it, so I would appreciate a pointer. Thanks.

In Sitchin's recounting, it wasn't a pole shift but a slip of the polar ice cap - two very different things. Granted, one could cause the other or both could be the result of something, but they are still different things. Sitchin conjectured that such a thing as the slipping polar cap would be sufficient to cause the Great Flood of history. What caused it is still very much in question. It could have been Nibiru's influence on our planet. It could have been a meteor, a comet, any number of possibilities. The only real (assuming any of the Sumerian mythos is true) element is that the Niburian/Annunaki/Nefilim knew ahead of time about the flood, prepared for it and were able to escape it.
